Snowsports School Update:

    Cross Country Ski Lessons Now available

    Learn to Cross Country Ski

    The Hanson Hills Snow Sports School is now offering Classical style Cross Country ski lessons.  Learn the basics of equipment, striding, turning and stopping from our experienced staff.  


    Free Beginner Group Lesson Every Saturday at 12pm-1pm.  (Beginning 12/21/19 Trail Pass Required $15, Rental and Lesson are Free. )  Lessons will start promptly at 12pm. Please arrive 45 min early to register and to be fitted for equipment. 

    Amazing Ski Programs

    Hanson Hills Hoppers

    A six-week program specially designed for children from ages 4-7 years old. This program is animated and colorful to keep the attention of our young students. Lessons are held Saturdays at 11:00am starting in January. Each lesson will last an hour and a half, each student will be allowed to stay and ski the rest of the day. Package includes equipment rental including helmet and lift ticket for the day. Participants will receive a certificate and a Hoppers pin.

    Snowboard Academy

    A six-week program specially designed for the beginning snow boarder. This program will teach students the basic fundamentals to snowboarding, including turning and stopping. 

    Each Class will last an hour and a half. Participants will receive a certificate and a pin. 


    ONLINE REGISTRATION

    Level 1 Ski Program

    This six-week program will be held on Sunday’s from 11:00am to 12:30pm beginning in January. Students will learn to match skis into skidded turn, learn proper body positioning, increase speed and stability and ski other varied terrain. Students will also receive certificate and pin. Skier must be able to stop and turn prior to starting class. Recommended for ages 5-12 years. 



    Level 2 Ski Program

    This six-week program will be held on Sunday’s from 11:00am to 12:30pm beginning in January. Students will learn to refine the skidded turn to an edge turn and increase speed and stability learn to ski in a more dynamic way. Students will also receive certificate and pin.  Skier must be able to make a skidded turn prior to starting class. Recommended for ages 6-12 years. 

     


    Level 3 Ski Program

    This six-week program will be held on Sunday’s from 11:00am to 12:30pm beginning in January. Students will learn dynamic carved turns and increase speed and stability. Higher level of drills and introduction to racing or higher level skiing tactics.  Students will also receive certificate and pin.  Skier must be able to make an edge carved turn. Recommended for ages 7-12 years. 

     


    Grayling Youth Booster 3rd-12th Free Ski Program

    A FREE five-week Learn to downhill ski program designed for 3rd through 12th grade students attending Crawford AuSable Schools. This program runs after school on designated days, and is for the true first time skier.  Program is available through grants and cooperation from the Grayling Youth Booster Club, Hanson Hills, and the Crawford AuSable School District.  




    5th-12th Grade Learn to XC Ski Program

    A FREE five-week Learn to cross country ski program designed for 5th-12th grade students attending Crawford AuSable Schools. This program runs after school on designated days, and is for the true first time skier.  Program is available through grants and cooperation from Hanson Hills, and the Crawford AuSable School District.  




    SKI SPECIALS

    January Discover Michigan Skiing

    During January, ski areas across the state teamed up with Michigan McDonald’s restaurants to offer an affordable introduction to the sport of skiing and snowboarding. Discover Michigan Skiing includes a beginner lesson, ski or snowboard rental equipment and a beginner-area ski lift pass for $45. Preregistration required. 

    February Learn to Ski or Snowboard

    $50

    During February we are offering an affordable introduction to the sport of skiing and snowboarding. Special includes a beginner lesson, ski or snowboard rental equipment and a beginner-area ski lift pass for $50 Preregistration required.
